Leadership and Teambuilding through Action Learning (IN MANDARIN)


This two-day workshop is designed with the objective of exploring leadership and team development in the context of personal and professional growth. The participants get to explore what leadership means to them, how they want to demonstrate leadership and what actions could they take to develop those skills.

The workshop will introduce them to the principles of Action Learning as a leadership development tool and give them a first hand experience of it. Participants get to identify ways to apply the principles in their daily life and identify an action plan to pursue their leadership journey.

The workshop consists of and makes use of the following: Team Discussions, Reflections, group dialogue, critical and insightful questions, peer and group learning.


This workshop is designed and delivered for

• Technical Professionals who want to explore their strengths and identify ways to develop themselves into leaders

• Individuals looking for ways to demonstrate personal leadership in their day to day life, create break through in thought and behaviour

• Individual Contributors and Managers who want to develop their leadership in communications and in building a strong and cohesive team


Course Objectives

At the end of this course, participants should be able to:


1.       Articulate the skills and behaviours related to personal leadership

2.       Explain the different stages of team development and develop strategies to lead the teams at different stages.

3.       Identify their leadership strengths and the areas for improvement, based on the leadership assessment

4.       Articulate how Action Learning helps one to develop leadership skills

5.       Find ways to apply the principles of Action Learning in personal and professional life


Each participant will receive a Certificate Of Completion from the World Institute for Action Learning (WIAL)

Workshop Facilitator - Mr Phoon Kok Hwa


Phoon Kok Hwa is a  Director and Publisher at Candid Creation Publishing, where he has spent the last decade coaching aspiring authors to get their books written and helping them to publish their book.

Leading a team of publishing professionals, his company provides a one-stop publishing service to help individual and organisations take their publication projects from idea to fruition.

Leveraging on his entrepreneurial experience and keen interest in human dynamics, he has facilitated entrepreneurship workshops and is also actively involved in using Action Learning in building business networking groups. He has been an Action Learning coach involved in AL programs in  various organizations in Singapore including Singhealth Academy, People’s Association and  Civil Service College.

He graduated with an Honours in Engineering from the National University of Singapore.
